I design for a woman who is not afraid to self-express. That woman is also ageless in that she is only as old as she feels. To me fashion is like a stage for personal theatre - you act out your feelings and attitudes in as subtle or dramatic a way as you wish to show, and there is no better way to help you achieve that goal than through art-to-wear clothing.
My designs are truly wearable art, one-of-a-kind, inspired clothing - I don’t make anything twice, not multiple sizes, not multiple colors, just like a painter wouldn’t paint the same picture more than once. I don’t even use the same fabrics, and it is all made by hand, by me, in my studio. I use various processes, from painting, dyeing and texturing, to knitting, crocheting, sewing, felting, appliquéing, etc., following an open-minded approach to creating for all purposes, including the choice of materials for which I have no set limits.
The new name for my label, Aproximat, sums up in one word the essence of my design: unconventional, free-spirited, off-beat, where anything is possible and rules are followed only in as much as it helps the vision, not being a prerequisite for creation.
